Qualities of a Great Explore Math Instructor
- A desire to own the program and make it your own. There's no set curriculum for any of the programs so this is really a great opportunity to try out some teaching techniques and curriculum material.
- Ability to mentor and work with high school and undergraduate students.
- Some teaching experience (not necessarily at UCD).
- Not just for those who want to do high school math education, Explore Math instructors will be given an opportunity to teach research level mathematics.
- Fun!
In summary, passion for research mathematics and an interest in students is more important than cumulative teaching experience.
